Ingredients
16 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons taco seasoning (homemade or store-bought)
1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
1/4 cup black olives, finely chopped
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
1 cup crushed tortilla chips (or crushed Doritos for variation)
Fresh shredded lettuce (for garnish)
Cherry tomatoes, halved (for garnish)
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, taco seasoning, jalapeños, black olives, and shredded cheese (if using). Mix until well blended.
-
Line a medium bowl with plastic wrap. Scoop the cheese mixture into the center and use the wrap to form it into a smooth ball shape.
-
Chill the wrapped cheese ball in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
-
Just before serving, remove the plastic wrap and roll the cheese ball in crushed tortilla chips until fully coated.
-
Place the cheese ball on a serving plate. Garnish the base with fresh shredded lettuce and halved cherry tomatoes for color and freshness.
-
Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggie sticks like celery and bell pepper strips.
Notes
Add more heat: Add extra jalapeños, hot sauce, or diced green chilies for a spicier version.
Cheese swap: Try using pepper jack cheese or a Mexican cheese blend for a different flavor.
Taco toppings: Garnish with diced tomatoes, onions, or sour cream to enhance the taco flavor.
