Ingredients
1 wheel of brie cheese (8 oz)
½ cup cooked ground sausage
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme (optional)
1 tsp honey or fig jam (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
- Assemble the Brie: Place brie in the center of the pastry. Top with cooked sausage and optional thyme or a drizzle of honey or fig jam.
- Wrap the Brie: Fold the pastry over the brie, sealing the edges tightly. Flip the sealed side down onto the baking sheet.
- Egg Wash: Brush the top of the pastry with beaten egg for a golden, glossy finish.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Cool and Serve: Let the baked brie cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers, apple slices, or a baguette.
