Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic, savory dish made with boneless chicken breasts stuffed with Swiss cheese , then baked to perfection. Ingredients

Nonstick cooking spray

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

¼ teaspoon salt

⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

6 slices Swiss cheese

½ cup seasoned bread crumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 7×11-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Pound each chicken breast to about ¼-inch thickness.

  • Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

  • Place 1 slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast.

  • Roll up each breast tightly and secure with toothpicks.

  • Place the rolled-up chicken in the prepared baking dish and evenly sprinkle with bread crumbs.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink inside.

  • Remove the dish from the oven and place ½ slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken roll.

  • Return the dish to the oven for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese has melted.

  • Remove the toothpicks and serve immediately.

Notes

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Reheating: To reheat, place the chicken in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until heated through.

Freezing: You can freeze the assembled, uncooked chicken rolls. After rolling and before baking, freeze for up to 4 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and bake as usual.
