Crispy, golden air-fried crumbed fish that delivers all the crunch of traditional fried fish with less oil and minimal effort.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

1 cup dry bread crumbs

¼ cup vegetable oil

4 flounder fillets

1 egg, beaten

1 lemon, sliced (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the bread crumbs and vegetable oil until evenly combined and crumbly.
  3. Dip each fish fillet into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off.
  4. Coat each fillet thoroughly in the crumb mixture, pressing gently so it adheres.
  5. Place the coated fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between pieces.
  6. Air-fry for about 12–15 minutes, until the coating is golden and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with lemon slices.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for the crispiest result.

Different fish types may need slightly adjusted cooking times.

Add spices or Parmesan cheese to the crumbs for extra flavor.

Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to maintain crispness.
